Dr. Joel Boyd earned his B.S. in Chemistry and Mathematics at Wayland Baptist University and his Ph.D. in Chemistry (physical emphasis) at Rice University.  After a combined 12 years as a faculty member at Wayland Baptist University and Gordon College, Dr. Boyd joined the Erskine faculty in 2013. His undergraduate research group investigates the photocatalytic purification of water.
